| David
was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and is now currently living in
Tulsa, OK with his wife, Sarah, and two daughters. Much of David career was spent playing the college Alternative Rock music scene around the Southwest part of the country. His band the DIRT POETS, from the early 90's, is still one of the things Dave is most remembered for. They played in Hollywood many times, as well as Austin, Dallas, New Orleans, Colorado, and many other places in the southwest USA. In 1994, David chose to leave the equal partnership band thing behind and focus on a solo career. A terribly risky thing considering his name and reputation were linked to the DIRT POETS, and now his livelihood would depend on his success without that band. Fortunately it has worked out perfectly. The musicians who play as Dave's backing band are now some of his closest friends and biggest supporters. David has accomplished more than ever since making that decision to go solo. Dave has played on the same bill as LISA LOEB, HEART, DUNCAN SHEIK, the ROMANTICS, FLOCK OF SEAGULLS, the COMMITMENTS (and many others), not mention playing piano for legendary BO DIDDLEY one night in Winterpark, Colorado. In 1997 Dave released his first solo album, interestingly titled DIRT POET. A name that helped his fans make the connection to his old band and to keep things running smooth. This album was a huge favorite with the old fan base, as well as the catalyst to building a whole new, bigger fan base. Feeling as though God were calling him to something different, In 1999 David chose to put the brakes on playing in clubs and focus more on churches, and private party's. God opened up all kinds of doors that David never knew where there before, and has continued to bless that leap of faith. David's goal now is to use the gift of music and story telling to share the way God works in his life, and in a way that anyone can connect with. "I really was losing my love for performing until I chose to use it as a way to share my relationship with God", say's Lon. "It's really funny, amazing, and moving to see how God has taken my life and changed it. Ministry is now my passion," David continues. In 2004 David released his first album that openly discusses his faith in Jesus Christ. The album is called "WOODSONGS - the acoustic album." His has gotten nothing but rave reviews from the press, as well as long-time Dave fans. "The goal was never to run off my non-christian fan base, but rather to share with them how cool life had gotten for me by being a more obedient christian and open with my faith. I highly recommend it to everyone," says David. "I really didn't want to be seen as one of those boring christian singers, I just got tired of not writing songs about the the very things I spent all my time thinking about," Dave continues. David is now using his music to go out to other churches and share his unique perspective of God, Christ, the Bible, and Christianity. David
currently leads
a band called Dave and the Wavetones that helps pay the bills by
